It doesn’t matter if you are a carpenter or just an average person trying to fix something, you will definitely require the use of hand tools to accomplish your tasks. Many of the tool boxes should have the right amount of hand tools to tackle any jobs. This means that it is important to invest in a set of high quality hand tools that will come in handy at the right time. Hand tools are basically tools that can be held by a person. They can either be normal tools that require manual labor to operate or they could be powered by batteries or electricity.

One of the most well known and common hand tools is the hammer. A hammer is used to break things up, drive nails or pry out boards and nails. It is an extremely versatile hand tool that can be used to tackle a variety of tasks. Hammers may come in many different shapes and sizes from those that can fit comfortably in your hand to big sledgehammers used to break down concrete walls. This is why it is important to invest in a good quality hammer, so that the head will not fall off the handle as the hammer will undergo quite a large amount of stress.

Another very common hand tool available is the screwdriver. Most of the times screw drivers come in two basic standards which are the Phillips style screw head and the flat screw head. Screwdrivers are only able to accomplish one specific task which is to drive screws into different types of surfaces or materials. Because there are many types of screws, there also many types of screwdrivers. There are also electric screwdrivers that turn the screws through a rotating motor. This will complete the job faster and more efficiently.

Another type of tool that requires a lot of manual labor is a hand saw. Although there are many types of power and electric saws, some applications still require a hand saw to do the job. One example of a hand saw would be a hacksaw, which is used to cut woods and sometimes even metals. In the past, when electric and powered saws have not yet been invented people used much larger hacksaws to cut down large trees. These saws often required two or more people to operate.

There are also some hand tools that may not be as flashy such as the measuring tape. This is a useful tool for measuring spaces when building or modifying an area. Another good example of such hand tools would be pliers. Pliers are used to remove nails, bolts, bent metals or any other material you want to have a firm grip of. There are also wire cutters, most often used by electricians to easily cut wires or strip a wire casing to access the metal components in the wire.

All the hand tools that were mentioned require manual labor to operate them. There are also powered hand tools that may do the job much more efficiently. Like manual powered hand tools, motor powered hand tools are also found in many homes and professional workshops. The only difference between these two hand tools is that one requires manual labor while the other relies on an external power source, such as a battery or electricity.

These powered hand tools include power drills which main purpose is to bore holes. However, if the head of the drill is replaced with a screwdriver, the power drill can also double as an electric screwdriver. To replace the traditional hammer, there is the nail gun. The nail gun can be used for many purposes such as framing, fencing, roofing and many more. For applications such as sanding, it may be wiser to use a powered sander instead of using sandpaper. Other electric powered hand tools that are powered by rotary motion are extremely useful as the parts can be changed. This allows the tool to be a saw, a sander, polisher or a drill.

There are a vast amount of hand tools available but not everyone needs all the tools. This means that the types of tools you have in your toolbox depends on the types of tasks you intend to do. With that in mind, you can then decide if you would like to invest more in a power tool or do it the traditional way.
