Drinkers of coffee with caffeine are also said to have shorter reaction times and faster short term memory functions. Daily intake of this liquid can provide protection for the liver. It is said to have the ability to reduce the development of liver cirrhosis. Another health benefit of coffee is that it contains minerals such as magnesium and chromium which controls blood sugar reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes. Caffeine found in coffee prevents crystallization of cholesterol. It is also believed to reduce the incidence of gallbladder and risk of development of gallstones. Coffee is a diuretic. It stimulates the peristalsis which acts as a colon cleanser. Its diuretic effect lowers the incidence of bladder cancer in smokers.
