Gas Systems in Singapore
Presently there are two gas systems in Singapore: the manufactured town gas system and the natural gas system. Town gas is produced and supplied to over 500,000 domestic, commercial and industrial consumers.
Sources of Natural Gas
Singapore has been importing natural gas from Malaysia since 1992. Natural gas from West Natuna, Indonesia landed in Singapore in January 2001 and is available for reticulation for users comprising power stations and large industrial customers.
The third source of natural gas coming from Sumatra, Indonesia arrived in end 2003.
