GPSIII
The Model GPSIII is a hydraulic high pressure generator and measurer, fitted with high accuracy sensors, designed for the calibration process of pressure sensors, pressure transmitters and other instruments in calibration laboratories, R&D and production departments.
Product Description
GPSIII reference pressure is measured by a high accuracy oscillating quartz crystal sensor (up to 2750bar) or a silicon sensor (up to 5000bar), which are fully temperature compensated. This technology combines long term stability with excellent metrological specifications and low sensitivity to environment influence. The following pressure ranges are available as standard:
• 69MPa (690bar, 10kpsi)
• 138MPa (1380bar, 20kpsi)
• 207MPa (2070bar, 30kpsi)
• 276MPa (2760bar, 40kpsi)
• 500MPa (5000bar, 72,5kpsi)
Typical accuracy is 0.01% FS up to 276MPa, which combines repeatability, linearity and hysteresis.
GPSIII can be controlled by its keypad or through an external computer; this allows for easy integration into a full automatic system driven by standard SCPI commands. The GPSIII is available in different configurations and can be easily customized if required:
• Single, dual pressure sensor with or without high accuracy barometer
• With or without pre-programming pre-filling system.
• Upgradable into an Automatic Mass Handling Dead Weight Tester.
Intelligent pressure management allows the user to maintain stable and accurate pressure over time. An optional pre-filling pump is used to generate starting pressures up to 30 MPa in order to speed up target-stabilization-take point routines. Its operation is managed by the embedded software, which can also disable it. An extremely rugged construction allows intensive tasks, including sensor ageing and burnout test, besides the day-to-day process calibration.
The GPSIII design answers to the most demanding metrological requirements of accurate calibration because it has sensors insulated from any temperature fluctuation, as the internal volume is temperature equalized. A four-liter oil reservoir is delivered as standard. The brushless motor, fitted with its gear box and high pressure pot can be locally maintained. The high pressure module has been designed in accordance with the DH-Budenberg 10.000 bar technology which has been developed during our long experience in this field of high pressure measurement. GPSIII has been built to guarantee a very good MTBF in intensive use. The individual sensors can be sent out for calibration whereas the unit stays in place. The preventive/curative maintenance is also made very simple. Even the replacement of the plunger piston can be done at site in few minutes and does not require any special knowledge. The sensors, the isolation valves, connectors and the high pressure output are located in easily accessible areas. This makes troubleshooting quite easy. A user friendly software screen guides the operator through the complete repair process.
