L3Vision Night Vision Cameras
L3Vision (also known as electron multiplication CCD or EMCCD) is as advanced CCD technology that offers performance in excess of the best intensified CCDs. L3Vision finds its main areas of application in photon-starved situations such as night-time surveillance, astronomy or the detection of fluorescent and luminescent markers in life sciences. Its ability to operate across the full range of light levels brings a huge increase in system flexibility. In life sciences, fast, high sensitivity operation can be combined with quantitative, slow-scan and time integrated imaging measurements. The L3C95 series offers all the benefits of the L3Vision technology, with a range of features that enhances performance at very high and very low light levels. This range of cameras utilizes high performance DSP to extend operation beyond overcast starlight, whilst the high resolution CCD sensor provides even sharper images for illumination levels at or above moonlight
The L3C216 series provides all the benefits of the benefits of the existing L3Vision TM range in a smaller package, and demands less power. The 2/3” format sensor allows use with smaller optical components, further reducing system payload. Since the sensor is back-thinned, performance is similar to that obtained with e2v’s existing 1” format sensors. An improved CCD manufacturing process reduces horizontal smear
