Pipe Clamps

A pipe clamp is simply used to connect a pipe into the remainder of a pipe hanger or support assemblies. These are sometimes made of black finishes or galvanized materials depending on the required specifications. It is composed of manufactured clamp heads which is also known as jaws and a common threaded pipe with specific length. This is a type of band clamp that is usually being employed in piping industry and woodworking industry specifically in edge gluing, and cabinet shops. It can also be applied for suspension in cold pipe lines which can either be insulated or not.

Pipe clamps are available in variety of types and sizes depending on the diameter of the piping. The clamp’s capability as well as its capacity depends on the length of the pipe during the operation. This clamp is typically threaded on both ends of the pipe wherein one head has the screw mechanism for tightening in order to fix it on the pipe threads while keeping the other one movable using a series of movable clutches and shift to the other parts of the pipe when setting up the clamping operation and then lock as soon as the pressure is applied.

Types of Steel Pipe Clamps
• Extension Pipe or Riser Clamp – this type of clamp hose is used to support stationary steel pipe risers wherein the clamp is bolted and fitted below the hub, coupling, or welded lugs on the steel pipe.
• Riser Clamp (Standard) – used to give support on the vertical piping during the operation then the load carried by the shear lugs will be welded to the pipe.
• Offset Pipe Clamp – used to support horizontal piping away from the floor or wall.
• Extended Pipe Clamp - this type of clamp is used as an attachment to the structure without the use of rods.
• Medium Pipe Clamp - this type of pipe saddle is normally used with weldless eye rod or eye nut. It clamps tightly to the pipe wherein it has equal gad design available in many sizes
• Heavy Pipe Clamp – it is designed to accommodate heavy load that reaches up to 750ºF. It is usually applied with weldless eyenut or welded eye rod.
• Double Bolt Pipe Clamp – this type of steel pipe clamp is used in pipe suspension where insulation required is within the temperature and load limitation. It can accommodate larger insulation loads, thickness, and dimensions. Its attachment can be made with weldless eyenut or welded eye rod.
• Alloy Double Bolt Pipe Clamp – this is recommended for suspension of high temperature pipe with insulation.
• Heavy Duty Double Pipe Clamps - this type of steel pipe clamp is used in pipe suspension where insulation required is within the temperature and load limitation. It can accommodate larger insulation loads, thickness, and dimensions.
• Alloy Steel Pipe Clamp – this is a type of hose clamp that is designed to give supports on loads with temperature of 1,075ºF. It is recommended for suspension of high temperature pipe with 6’ insulation. It includes an alloy load distribution strap as well as a yoke with rugged cross section area to eliminate the high stress condition.
