Air Conditioning Ductings

Air conditioning ductings are fundamentally used in HVAC – heating, ventilation, and air conditioning to remove and deliver air; these devices ensure that the place has acceptable quality of indoor air and thermal comfort.

Ducting system is the planning, optimizing, sizing, detailing and determining the pressure losses through the use of ducts. This duct system is suitable for utilization to guarantee best air conditioning as it promotes efficient air flow with low noise air conditioning process.

Ducted air conditioning has numerous benefits that enhance air flow and humidity of the place.

Benefits of Air Conditioning Ducting
• Equal air distribution – the air is equally distributed in every room
• Stable and equal air temperature – No cold or hot spots, stabilizes the temperature all over the place
• Low noise process – doesn’t produce a disturbing noise during air conditioning process
• Establishes safer and healthier indoor air

Ducts are constructed from different materials such as galvanized steel, aluminium, pre-insulated ducting, fiberglass duct board, flexible ducting and waterproofing.
• Aluminium Ducting is lighter compared to other ductings and is easy to install.
• Pre-insulated air ducts or phelonic and polyurethane foam panels are constructed with aluminium that is facing on both sides.
• Fiberglass duct board has an installed thermal insulation with interior surface that absorbs sound which is a great benefit in providing a low noise operation in air conditioning system.
• Flexible ducting is made from flexible plastic over a metal wire coil to form a tube.
• Waterproofing ducts are designed with aluminium or aluminium alloy or zinc suited for external weather exposure.

HVAC System or Air conditioning ducting has three (3) basic types of ductwork which are commonly used in offices and houses. These are the duct board – an aluminium foil-coated fiberglass insulation panel which is easy to install and less expensive than the others, metal ducts – which requires customization to fit into the interior of the place and Flexible ducts – typically used on conjunctions accompanied with other types of ductwork and provides easier and faster installation.

When it comes to duct installation system, it is important to know the parts of the system for maximum efficiency and functionality of the system that controls air flow throughout the place. Here are the basic parts of air-conditioning ducting system:
• Furnace – equipment used for pushing hot or cold air outward going into the ducts, then distributes evenly across the place.
• Heat Exchanger – used to suck up and disperse heated air outside quickly.
• Evaporator coil – is activated when there is a necessity for cool air.
• Condensing Unit – used for condensing air to produce refrigerant gas, then processes the gas to produce cooler air.
• Refrigerant Lines – are metal tubes that bring the liquid into the evaporating coil then return the gas to the condensing unit.
• Thermostat – manages the function of the furnace.
• Ducts – used for removing and delivering air in HVAC
• Vents – are typically rectangular in shapes which are installed in ceilings with edges that correspond to the opening in the ducts.
