Company Profile

Founded in 1973 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Crabtree & Evelyn has evolved from a small, family-run business to an international company, respected for its naturally inspired remedies and home comforts.

Long before the ¡®natural' and ¡®wellness' movement became popular, Crabtree & Evelyn was wholeheartedly embracing the riches of the natural world. Our inspirational model is the early home apothecary, or ¡°still room¡± as it was called in England. Still rooms existed in a time when the garden played an integral role in daily life - a time when fresh flowers, herbs and fruits were distilled to make fragrant waters for the bath and soothing essences for the skin. It is this unique relationship with nature that Crabtree & Evelyn diligently seeks to preserve.

We believe that each age has its own wisdom to contribute. We continue to draw upon our rich heritage and accumulated botanical knowledge as well as emerging technologies to produce the purest and most effective products possible for our customer.

We understand that everyday is far too precious to be mundane. We are passionate about what we believe: taking pleasure in simple things, making time for yourself and always expecting the best.

CRABTREE & EVELYN is now sold in over 40 countries and has over 350 stores worldwide.

Recognised as an exceptional brand, CRABTREE & EVELYN now enjoys Superbrand status in the UK , Malaysia , Singapore and Hong Kong .

In a world that is constantly changing, it is comforting to know that certain values endure.

The CRABTREE & EVELYN Name Many people are curious about our name. It was inspired by the renaissance Englishman, John Evelyn, who lived in the 17th century. Evelyn is most famous for Sylva, the first important work on conservation, published at a time when England's forests were being stripped of timber to build ships for the expanding British Navy. His great estate, Sayes Court, was planted with large expanses of elm trees, and the magnificent gardens he created were a wonder of the age. Our symbol, the Crabtree or Wild Apple, is native to Britain and the ancestor of all cultivated apple trees. It was highly prized for its beauty as well as its usefulness in home apothecary.
